Introduction of The Cross-over Straps

The Air Jordan VIII was released at the start of the 1992-1993 NBA season. The design of the Air Jordan VIII was quite impressive. The Air Jordan VIII featured Huarache inner sleeve, anti-inversion cross-over straps, a polycarbonate torsion plate and thickened padding for extra support. It also featured a furry Jumpman logo. The cross-straps, also known as bunny ears, would make the shoe tight around the sides which made the Air Jordan VIII very uncomfortable for people with wide feet.

The Heaviest Air Jordan

There were a lot of similarities between the Air Jordan VIII and its predecessor, the Air Jordan VII. However, the VIII had a lot more details, color and accents. The Air Jordan VIII were also very heavy. Many believe that the shoe was heavy because of its thick padding. The thick padding on the Air Jordan VIII meant that it also got very warm. This mad the Air Jordan VIII not as comfortable as previous Air Jordan models.

Only Three Color Variations

The original Air Jordan VIII only had three color combinations. This was quite a shock to many fans since the previous models, including the Air Jordan VII sold very well. The Color schemes for the original Air Jordan VIII were White/Black-True Red, Black/Bright Concord-Aqua Tone and Black-Black-True Red. Less quantities of the Air Jordan VIII were produced compared to the Air Jordan VII.

Michael And The Chicago Bulls Continues to Soar

With the Air Jordan VIII on his feet, Michael Jordan lead the Chicago Bulls to their third consecutive NBA title, gets his seventh scoring title. He also sets a Finals scoring record against the Phoenix suns by averaging 41.0 points per game.
